High Performance work environment for Regional Construction Company
The Challenge
A regional Commercial Building/Heavy Highway/Industrial/Gas/Power Construction Company desired to create a unique high-performance working environment for both corporate resources and contractors. They identified as a core value that the success of the individual directly reflects and contributes to the success of the company. To that end, they determined that timely, robust feedback dialogues (giving and receiving) and coaching skills would create the engagement, confidence and resilience required to manage the challenging work requirements of their industry.
The Solution
Third River Partners and the senior leadership team co-created and implemented feedback and coaching skills as a core part of the company’s new performance management process. This corporate-wide initiative was the first to be designed and facilitated by the senior team.
The Outcome
Not only was the initiative well-received by employees and a core enabler in the rollout of their new performance management process, the program was nationally recognized with the Education Excellence Award for Supervisory Training from the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC). The AGC award inspired pride and confidence in the process and the company has gone on to be named Top Workplace and Best Place to Work in Western Pennsylvania.
